When I started with Optic Sky in 2018, we were tasked with finding creative ways to reach out to clients. After hearing about a new relationship our CEO had with a contact at LEGO, I suggested we create an animation to say hello and show off our skills.

After looking at some reference images, I created a model of our CEO Aaron. I made a variety of facial expressions, which we used to simulate him talking.

For background elements, we wanted to experiment with how kids would make scenes at home by using sheets, paper, cardboard, and bubble wrap to create a backdrop of Rochester.

As we developed the script, each animator would be doing something different. We landed on my character controlling a weather machine-like simulator, and decided having a dragon appear in the city would be a good addition.
